So, you’ve decided to become an RMP—congrats!
But before you go imagining yourself with that sweet certificate, let’s run through the timeline (and emotional rollercoaster) of getting there:
Week 1: RMP Review Application Processing
You send in your application and check your email every five minutes as if waiting for a text from your crush. “Did they receive it? Am I in?!
3-4 Months: Preparation Time
This is where the actual hustle kicks in. You balance work, school, or binge-watching your favorite show while studying marketing principles.
There are nights when you’re feeling energized, other nights when you’re simply looking at your notes thinking, “Did Kotler actually anticipate that we learn all of this?
Exam Day (Conducted Twice a Year)
It’s showtime! You enter believing you’re some sort of marketing wizard, but then the very first question sets you doubting everything: “Wait… was this in the reviewer?
4 Months: Waiting for Results
This is where the anxiety kicks in. It feels longer than waiting for the next season of your favorite show. You’ll go through all five stages of grief while waiting for the email—denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and then finally… ACCEPTANCE! (hopefully, with a passing score)
1 Month: Certificate Issuance
You are now officially an RMP! Your name is engraved on that certificate, and you suddenly feel smarter, more credible, and 10% more desirable in the job market.
Graduation (After 1 More Month)
Roll out the graduation march, the congratulatory messages, and the never-ending LinkedIn flex posts. You’ve done it! Now go out there and market like a pro.
